Pioneering A Comprehensive Solution for Remote Robotic-Assisted Surgery

The Sovato Platform represents a groundbreaking, all-encompassing solution for enabling and orchestrating remote robotic-assisted surgeries and procedures. By integrating the remote surgery ecosystem—including healthcare providers and various robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) systems—Sovato delivers a curated fiberoptic network, clinical workflows, data, and supporting infrastructure necessary for safe, scalable, and profitable remote surgery and procedure programs. For healthcare organizations, Sovato’s platform supports the entire remote surgery program, covering the complete surgical journey for surgeons, care teams, and patients. As the cornerstone of a remote surgery program, the Sovato Platform addresses every aspect that changes in a remote scenario, utilizing technology designed to make any distance feel negligible. Sovato’s comprehensive solution unifies the people, systems, tools, and data required to successfully orchestrate and safely perform surgery at a distance and on a large scale—from the point of referral to surgery through postoperative care.

Revolutionizing Healthcare

Remote surgery is set to meet the needs of over half the world's population lacking high-quality surgical care, including 83 million Americans who must travel for routine procedures. Robotic-assisted technologies enable minimally invasive surgeries from distant locations. Miniaturized robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) systems like MIRA enhance remote surgery feasibility by simplifying transport and storage, making it viable for more hospitals. In June 2024, Sovato successfully completed multiple remote robotic-assisted procedures over a 500-mile distance using their platform. Seven surgeons across four specialties performed Nephrectomy, Hysterectomy, Colectomy, and Cholecystectomy, demonstrating remote surgery's wide-ranging applications. The Sovato Platform, paired with a modified MIRA Surgical System, provided low-latency fiber optic connectivity and an articulating camera for situational awareness. Surgeons maintained immersive communication with the remote care team throughout the procedures.
