Appointment of two Investment Directors and Investment Manager supports continued growth of the firm in the UK

Beringea, the transatlantic venture capital firm, has announced the promotions of Emma Biasiolo and Luke Edis to Investment Director, and the promotion of Piotr Bukanski to Investment Manager. Beringea today manages more than $900m across its offices in the UK and the US, with an investment team of 10 managing its funds in the UK.

The raft of promotions highlights Beringea’s substantial track record of nurturing the next generation of venture capital investors, bringing together a range of backgrounds and expertise to drive the growth of our portfolio and our funds. Beringea also has a significant commitment to building a diverse team, as shown by the gender balance across the UK investment team and investment committee.

Since joining Beringea, Emma Biasiolo has risen through the ranks of the investment team, establishing her credentials as a venture capital investor and a key member of our team. In recent years, Emma has led Beringea’s investments in Plank Hardware and Lucky Saint, and she has played a key role in our work with Papier, EDITED, Luxury Promise, and Dealroom. Emma has recently returned to London following a secondment to our US office.

Luke Edis joined Beringea as an Investment Associate, following experience as an operator, investor, and adviser. His past roles included Head of Business Development at Fundstack (now Attio), and roles with Passion Capital, the seed fund, and Silverpeak, the investment bank, where he advised startups on exits. Luke subsequently led investments into DASH Water and LITTA. He is currently a board director for both companies as well as Second Nature and Arctic Shores. He also led our exit from Firefly and supported our disposal of Blis.

Following their promotions, Emma and Luke will build on their track records at Beringea and play an integral role throughout the investment process from origination through execution and managing the portfolio to exit. Both Emma and Luke are also active members of the VC ecosystem in London, and they will continue to foster their growing influence across the industry.

Piotr Bukanski has swiftly developed into a key member of our UK investment team. Piotr began his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s investment banking division, where he worked on several high-profile consumer and retail IPOs and M&A transactions, and supported private fundraisings for high growth companies. Since joining Beringea, Piotr co-led our investment in Gorilla, subsequently joining the board of the business. He has also played an important role in investments in Chattermill and DASH Water, as well as supporting our work with Plum Guide.

As Investment Manager, Piotr will be responsible for sourcing and analysing new deals, due diligence on potential investments, managing deal execution processes, and monitoring and advising portfolio companies. He also currently holds board observer roles with ASTERRA and Archdesk.
